Copperline Labs LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Beacon mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app and services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information to provide our safety check-in service:

• Account information: Your email address, used for account creation and service notifications.
• Phone number: Used for SMS-based safety alerts and account verification.
• Emergency contact information: Names, phone numbers, and email addresses of contacts you designate to receive safety alerts.
• Check-in data: Timer durations, check-in status, and timestamps related to your safety sessions.
• Subscription information: Your subscription tier and purchase status, managed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used exclusively to provide and improve our safety check-in service:

• Sending safety alert notifications to your designated emergency contacts when a check-in timer expires.
• Delivering alerts via SMS, email, and voice calls based on your subscription tier and preferences.
• Managing your account and processing subscription changes.
• Sending you service-related communications (e.g., password resets, critical updates).
• Improving app reliability and performance through anonymized usage analytics.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Beacon:

• Supabase: Database hosting and user authentication. Data is stored on secure, encrypted servers.
• Twilio: SMS messaging and voice call delivery for safety alerts.
• Resend: Email delivery for safety alert notifications.
• RevenueCat: In-app purchase and subscription management. RevenueCat processes subscription data through Apple and Google's payment systems.

Each of these services has their own privacy policies governing their use of data. We only share the minimum information necessary for each service to perform its function.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We share data only as described in Section 3 above, or when required by law (e.g., in response to a valid legal process such as a subpoena or court order).

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, secure authentication protocols, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Check-in session data is retained for up to 90 days for service reliability purposes, after which it is automatically deleted.

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through the app settings. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal information from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right to access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
• Right to deletion: Request deletion of your personal data.
• Right to portability: Request your data in a portable format.
• Right to opt out: Opt out of non-essential data processing.

8. Children's Privacy

Beacon is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice in the app or sending you an email. Your continued use of Beacon after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
